Den formspændte skalstol ‘Bended’ er opstået ud fra intentionen om at transformere en 2-dimensionel finérflade til et organisk, rumligt 3-dimensionelt objekt. Møblets formspændte kurver er inspireret af arabiske skrifttegns karakter af serielle forløb af rytmisk organiske former. Visionen har været at skabe en fortolkning af den arabiske inspiration i et nordisk-arabisk fusionsdesign – med et moderne udtryk som resultat.
Den arabiske inspiration har virket som kreativ igangsætter. Inspirationen er via bearbejdningen transformeret til et abstrakt udtryk, hvor man ikke længere aflæser inspirationen fra det arabiske.
Prototypen af ‘Bended’ er udført på KTS, Københavnsk Tekniske Skole.

The form of the molded shell chair Fez originated from the intention to transform a two-dimensional veneer material into an organic, spatially three-dimensional object. The molded curves are inspired by the serial nature and organic forms of Arabic calligraphy. The vision was to create an interpretation of the Arab inspiration in a Nordic-Arabic fusion design – with the aim of creating a contemporary aesthetic expression.
While the Arab inspiration has served as a creative starting point, the initial inspiration is transformed into an abstract expression where you no longer directly notice the inspiration from the Arabic letters.
